We learn from our projects. We like to discover and share new insights with our clients and work hard, together, to overcome common obstacles.
The Personal Interview and Qualification System© (PIQS©) is used by major gifts teams in small and large organizations to significantly increase the amount of information and insight about the potential prospect.
PIQS© is a complete system of personal engagement that is customized for each client’s particular culture, their prospects and staff abilities. Focused on the prospective donor’s interests, attitudes, concerns and motivations, PIQS© is a unique way to bring consistency and depth to a major gift program.
The considerable time and energy required to obtain an appointment with a potential donor is a low-return investment of human and financial resources. Yet to grow a prospect base, being proactive is essential.
Our Appointment Acquisition and Management System© (AAMS ©) puts the major gift officer at the prospect appointment, not in the office trying to get the appointment.
With AAMS©, clients greatly increase the time their key staff members are with potential prospects and current donors.
Major gift program managers receive regular, detailed reports on appointment success so that they can see how their most precious resource (the time of their major gifts officers) is being invested.
There are multiple types of advancement business models. A lack of clarity about the business model a nonprofit should be using to serve its distinct clientele can lead to suboptimal performance—especially as it relates to advancement performance.
For many nonprofits, their business model in advancement is different than the other ways in which the organization produces revenue unless the organization is completely dependent on gifts for its existence.
Top Prospect Modeling © helps our customers articulate and improve their advancement business which, in turn, helps their clients invest their resources more effectively, producing greater results for donors and beneficiaries alike.

Experiential training focuses on translating information and knowledge into skills by having the learner practice what has been taught.
We work with clients to go beyond the standard lecture/simulate format to putting the trainees in real life settings, using what they have learned in workshops to translate that knowledge into real skills. In parallel, we work with managers to develop their skills in helping the trainee push themselves to try something that may be initially uncomfortable and to coach those trainees in ways to improve. We structure the client’s learning process to include team learning, where team members share insights and advice with a trainee and, in turn, strengthen their own understanding of what works and why it works.
Over the next 12 months as a new manager in nonprofit Advancement, you will be engaged with other new managers in deepening your understanding and skills important to becoming a success in your new role. You will also learn additional concepts deemed essential by senior Advancement executives.
An intensive two-day workshop will kick off the program by augmenting your knowledge in non-profit Advancement and giving you the tools for integrating the key functions of your role. A challenging combination of group exercises and individual coaching will strengthen your managerial muscle and reshape your approach to working with others.
Each month we will address one topic in depth, and we will set aside time for a “manager’s update,” a chance for you and your fellow new managers to bring up successes and challenges to share confidentially among participants.
This one-day, in-person gathering will provide an opportunity for you and your colleagues to review your progress over the prior six months, look forward six months with respect to your personal goals; and engage in learning & practicing additional tools.
Between monthly video conferences, participants will receive a monthly one-on-one session with a mentor to provide discussion and feedback on specific issues. Participants will also be asked to self-assess their progress on an ongoing basis.
For those participants who are being sponsored by someone in their organization, TGC will facilitate creation of a written set of expectations on the part of the participant and the sponsor.
